The Africa Cup of Nations 2025, underway in Morocco since Dec. 21, is being staged against the backdrop of extensive organizational planning and sustained investment in infrastructure, according to Moroccan authorities and the Confederation of African Football.

The tournament is taking place across six host cities, Rabat, Casablanca, Tangier, Marrakech, Agadir and Fez, with nine stadiums operational from the opening matches.

Four venues are located in Rabat, a configuration organizers say has streamlined coordination on security, logistics and media operations.

Investment has focused primarily on sports infrastructure. Several stadiums were rebuilt or fully refurbished ahead of the competition, with facilities meeting international standards for safety, broadcasting and team operations.

Venues include integrated medical units, media zones and dedicated areas for match officials.

Beyond stadium construction, authorities expanded transport networks linking host cities.

Road access to venues was upgraded, rail capacity increased through the Al Boraq high-speed line, and urban transport systems extended, particularly in Casablanca.

Dedicated transport services are operating for teams, officials and accredited personnel.

Hospitality sector sees targeted investment

Each participating national team has been allocated a dedicated five-star hotel, while hotel capacity in host cities has been expanded to accommodate supporters and delegations.

Twenty-four official training grounds have been prepared near stadiums and team bases.

CAF said the organizational model adopted for the tournament is designed to ensure operational efficiency during the competition while supporting long-term use of the infrastructure after the event.

The projects are also aligned with Morocco’s preparations for the 2030 World Cup, which the country will co-host.
