Burkina Faso’s Prime Minister Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo on Friday officially launched “Dɛmɛ Sira,” a nationwide campaign promoting solidarity and shared responsibility, acting on behalf of President Ibrahim Traoré.

Speaking before government officials, community organizations, youth volunteers and religious leaders, the prime minister delivered a message from the head of state urging Burkinabè to reinforce national unity through concrete acts of support and cooperation.

“We have chosen solidarity not as a concept, but as a path for action,” he said, adding that the initiative is meant to remind citizens that a nation is built on a shared destiny rather than institutions alone.

The campaign emphasizes the roles of families, women, youth, elders and traditional and religious authorities in rebuilding social bonds and contributing to what the government describes as a more resilient and sovereign national economy.

In a symbolic gesture, Ouédraogo passed a lit torch to the governor of the Kadiogo region, who will carry it to the governor of Nando as the solidarity flame begins its journey across all regions of the country.

According to officials, the campaign seeks to strengthen ties among Burkinabè and renew collective confidence in a future grounded in dignity, justice and mutual support.
