La Côte d’Ivoire appelle à inverser la tendance du changement climatique

Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire (BG) – Face aux impacts croissants du réchauffement climatique, le gouvernement ivoirien a réaffirmé son engagement en faveur d’un développement durable et résilient.

Dans un communiqué publié mercredi, il a insisté sur la nécessité d’inverser la tendance négative des dérèglements climatiques, principalement causés par les activités humaines.

Selon les autorités, les conséquences du changement climatique sont particulièrement visibles en Côte d’Ivoire, avec des pluies irrégulières entraînant sécheresses et inondations, une hausse des températures et la raréfaction des terres cultivables due à des pratiques agricoles inadaptées.

« Il faut agir ensemble pour protéger notre environnement et garantir un avenir durable à nos populations », a souligné le ministre de l’Environnement, du Développement durable et de la Transition écologique, Assahoré Konan Jacques. C’était le samedi 22 février 2025, à Dimbokro, lors de la cérémonie de la 7ᵉ édition des Journées de l’écologie et des changements climatiques (JFAC).

Le gouvernement élabore une stratégie visant à faire de certaines localités, dont Dimbokro, des villes écologiques.

« Dimbokro, en acceptant d’accueillir la 7ème édition des JFAC, s’est engagée à devenir d’ici quelques années, une ville verte, pour un retour à la prospérité », a affirmé le ministre, précisant que des initiatives seront mises en place pour favoriser la transition écologique et atteindre les Objectifs de développement durable (ODD).

En guise de symbole, plusieurs membres du gouvernement, dont Assahoré Konan Jacques et le ministre des Finances, Adama Coulibaly, ont procédé à un planting d’arbres.

Cette action est destinée à encourager les populations à s’engager dans la lutte contre le réchauffement climatique.
