Côte d’Ivoire : création d’une réserve naturelle de 49 hectares à Rubino

ABIDJAN, Côte d’Ivoire (BG) –Le gouvernement ivoirien a adopté un décret créant une réserve naturelle de 49 hectares à Alani, dans la région de l’Agnéby-Tiassa, a annoncé mercredi le porte-parole du gouvernement, Amadou Coulibaly.

Selon le texte, adopté en Conseil des ministres, cette aire protégée, baptisée « Réserve naturelle volontaire Eden de l’Agnéby-Tiassa », vise à préserver des espèces de flore endémiques d’Afrique de l’Ouest ainsi que des espèces animales exceptionnelles.

En application de la loi du 11 février 2002 relative à la création, à la gestion et au financement des parcs nationaux et réserves naturelles, cette réserve intègre le réseau national des réserves naturelles volontaires.

Située dans le domaine rural du village d’Alani, au sud du pays, la réserve devrait également stimuler la recherche scientifique et favoriser le développement socio-économique local grâce à l’écotourisme, a précisé le gouvernement.

La Côte d’Ivoire, pays d’Afrique de l’Ouest bordé par l’océan Atlantique, possède un réseau de parcs nationaux et de réserves naturelles couvrant environ 8 % de son territoire.

Parmi les plus connus figurent le parc national de Taï, classé au patrimoine mondial de l’UNESCO, et le parc national de la Comoé, qui abrite une biodiversité exceptionnelle.

Toutefois, la déforestation et l’urbanisation croissante menacent ces écosystèmes, poussant le gouvernement à renforcer ses efforts de conservation.
