Le Sénégal se prépare à accueillir les Jeux Olympiques de la Jeunesse (JOJ) 2026

Dakar, Sénégal (BG) – Le Sénégal accueillera les Jeux Olympiques de la Jeunesse (JOJ) de Dakar 2026, premier événement olympique organisé en Afrique. L’événement, qui se tiendra du 31 octobre au 13 novembre 2026, rassemblera 2 700 jeunes athlètes sur trois sites : Dakar, Diamniadio et Saly.

Avec la devise « L’Afrique accueille, Dakar célèbre », ces JOJ visent à transformer le pays par le sport et à inspirer la jeunesse africaine, selon un communiqué du Comité International Olympique (CIO) publié lundi. L’édition 2026 mettra en avant la Téranga sénégalaise et associera sport, espoir et festivités.

Trente-cinq fédérations internationales participeront, avec 25 sports en compétition : athlétisme, natation, tir à l’arc, badminton, baseball 5, basketball 3×3, boxe, breaking, cyclisme sur route, saut d’obstacles, escrime, futsal, gymnastique artistique, handball de plage, judo, aviron de mer, rugby à sept, voile, skateboard, tennis de table, taekwondo, triathlon, volleyball de plage, lutte de plage et wushu.

Dix autres sports seront promus dans le programme de mobilisation : canoë-kayak, golf, hockey, karaté, pentathlon moderne, tir, escalade, surf, tennis et haltérophilie.

Les JOJ 2026 introduiront une parité totale, avec 151 épreuves réparties équitablement entre hommes et femmes, incluant sept épreuves mixtes.

Ces Jeux marqueront une étape historique pour le continent et serviront de référence pour les futures éditions.
