81 Countries and 26 Organizations Join Effort to Eradicate Hunger by 2030

RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil (BG) – A new initiative aimed at eradicating global hunger by 2030 has been launched with the support of world leaders and international organizations.

The Global Alliance Against Hunger and Poverty, a key outcome of Brazil’s G20 presidency, has already garnered the backing of 81 countries, 26 international organizations, 9 financial institutions, and 31 philanthropic foundations and NGOs

According to the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), 733 million people are undernourished worldwide.

The Alliance seeks to tackle this crisis through coordinated efforts to increase food security, reduce poverty, and promote sustainable development.

The launch marks a significant step in the G20’s commitment to addressing global inequalities and ensuring no one is left behind in the fight against hunger.
