L’autrice camerounaise Hemley Boum remporte le Prix des 5 Continents 2025

YAOUNDÉ, Cameroun (BG) – L’écrivaine franco-camerounaise Hemley Boum a remporté le Prix des 5 Continents de la Francophonie 2025 pour son roman Le rêve du pêcheur, a annoncé l’Organisation internationale de la Francophonie (OIF) lors d’une cérémonie à Paris.

Son ouvrage, qui retrace l’histoire d’une famille camerounaise migrante en France, explore avec sensibilité les thèmes de la mémoire, de l’identité, de l’exil et du déracinement.

Le jury, présidé par l’écrivaine Fawzia Zouari, a salué « l’écriture poétique » du roman et son regard lucide sur les identités francophones contemporaines.

Créé en 2001, le Prix des 5 Continents récompense chaque année un texte littéraire d’expression française et est doté de 15 000 euros.

Née au Cameroun, Hemley Boum a étudié l’anthropologie avant de se tourner vers une carrière dans le commerce international à Lille.

Installée en France, elle est reconnue pour ses romans, poésies et essais, où elle interroge les liens entre tradition, modernité et vie urbaine.

Parmi ses œuvres précédentes figurent Les jours viennent et passent (Prix Ahmadou Kourouma 2020, finaliste du Prix des 5 Continents 2020), Le rêve du pêcheur (Prix Montauban 2024, Prix Louis-Guilloux 2024) et Le Clan des femmes (2010).

À la suite de son sacre, Boum a exprimé sa joie sur : « Les livres nous sauvent mais discrètement. Ils nous sauvent un à une, de façon intime et confidentielle, dans le silence de la lecture et de l’écriture. Prix des 5 continents de le Francophonie pour Le Rêve du Pêcheur. Joie et gratitude immenses. »

Créé en 2001, le Prix des 5 Continents est doté de 15 000 euros et assure la promotion du lauréat sur la scène internationale tout au long de l’année.
